DESCRIPTION: This hike is for people with physical training, because during the trip we will walk through four passes or abras, the highest is located at 4560 meters. We cross deep valleys and climb mountains where you can see beautiful snowy; Likewise we can hopefully see condors in the area of Choquequirao, we will found Andean communities, you will be in contact to exchange information and learn a little Quechua language. After an arduous trek our reward will be to reach to the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu.
Acclimatization: It is essential that you are well acclimatized to the altitude before beginning the hike. If you are arriving from sea level, plan on spending at least 3 days in Cusco and the surrounding area before starting

DAY 1: Cusco – Cachora – Chikisqa
We will pick you up early from your hotel in Cusco in our private transport to the district of Cachora, the starting point of the walk. Prior preparation of the baggage we start our expedition to our first campsite called Chikisqa, where our guide will give us the respective explanation. On the way there is the possibility of seeing condors and also have a breathtaking view of the Apurimac Canyon. This day we walk between 6 to 7 hours.
DAY 2: Chikisqa – Playa Rosalina- Santa Rosa- Choquequirao
We will start to walk after breakfast; after descending and crossing the bridge Rosalina we will continue our walk to Santa Rosa, where we will take a break and continue towards Choquequirao the place where we camp, the trip takes approximately 7 hours of which 4 hours are of ascent. Finally we will have a breathtaking view of the Vilcabamba mountain range.
DAY 3: Choquequirao
This day we will visit all the archaeological complex of Choquequirao, the guide will have enough time to give us all the necessary information about the place as well as make short walks for the surroundings; breakfast, lunch, dinner and camping.
DAY 4: Choquequirao – PinchaUnuyoc- Rio Blanco – Maizal
After breakfast, we begin our descent to Pinchaunuyoc, crossing the White river and finally arrive to Maizal where we will spend the night. On this route we only find to one family with whom we have contact and will camping the middle of the uphill, equally we will enjoy the panoramic view of the tops of Choquequirao.
DAY 5: Maizal – Yanama
This day early after breakfast, we continue walking to the Victoria pass; on the route we will visit the copper and silver mines that were in operation until the sixties. Then we continue the journey to the Andean community of Yanama where we spend the night.
DAY 6: Yanama – Lluzcamayo
After breakfast we continue walking for another hour to reach the Yanama pass where we can see the flight of the condors. After a break we will start the descent to the surrounding communities, finally arriving to Lluzcamayo, the place where we camp.
DAY 7: Lluzcamayo– Aguas Calientes
This day we walk all downhill until to reach to “the beach”, in this area we will find variety of flora; after lunch we will go on transport to the town of Hydroelectric where we continue the trek to AguasCalientes, where we will spend the night in a hotel.
DAY 8: Aguas Calientes – Machupicchu – Cusco
After an early-morning breakfast the next morning, we will take the bus to Machu Picchu, where your guide will give you a thorough three-hour tour. After your tour, you will have some downtime to explore the site on your own or free time to climb the Huayna Picchu Mountain (if you reserve your ticket in advance), before taking the bus back down to Aguas Calientes, where we will have our last meal together. From there, we will send you on the train back to Cusco.
